About Us
Launched in 2019, ZiP Diagnostics is an Australian based biotech company focused on development and manufacture of low-cost solutions for infectious diseases point-of-care diagnostics. ZiP has its headquarters, laboratory and production facilities in Collingwood, Victoria. All significant components of the test systems are domestically produced including assays, cartridges and instruments. ZiP works under a ISO13485 compliant quality management system.

Our Mission
To provide rapid, high performance and low-cost point-of-care tests to improve health care globally for humans, animals and our environment.

Our Story
Better outcomes begin with earlier detection.
Founded in 2019, ZiP Diagnostics was created to bring high-quality diagnostics closer to where they are needed.
Access shapes outcomes. Delays, distance, and complexity continue to limit the impact of traditional testing.
Today, supported by a growing team of experts, ZiP is focused on making accurate, portable diagnostics more accessible across human, animal, and environmental health, enabling faster decisions where they matter most.
We're building sovereign manufacturing capability
Australia is one of the world's leaders in medical research - yet we manufacture only a fraction of the diagnostic technology we rely on.

For decades, critical reagents, assays, and medical devices have been imported from overseas. When global supply chains falter, so does access to essential healthcare resources. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed just how vulnerable this dependence can be.

Rather than relying on fragmented supply chains, ZiP has developed a vertically integrated diagnostics platform. We design and manufacture our own recombinant proteins, molecular assay chemistry, fluidic cartridge systems, lyophilised assay formats, precision lateral flow arrays, and custom reader instrumentation. By controlling each step, we ensure quality, security of supply, and cost efficiency.
Australian made.
Global solutions.

Science that moves at the speed of life
Scientific capability worldwide has never been stronger. We have the medical knowledge and resources to reduce preventable diseases and deaths - but you can't treat what you can't detect.

That's why we're bringing molecular diagnostics technology from the lab to the field. We are turning discovery into deployable diagnostic tools that can operate in the field, at the point of care, and in resource-limited settings, building the capability to deliver innovation where it can make the greatest impact.

We believe diagnostics should be:

Rapid
Delivering answers fast enough to guide real-time decisions and outbreak response.

Reliable
Providing consistent, accurate results that clinicians, veterinarians and field teams can trust.

Affordable
Cost-effective in order to ensure broad access, without compromising quality or performance.
