Reverse transcriptases (RT) are enzymes used by retroviruses to generate complementary DNA (cDNA) from an RNA template (reverse transcription) to replicate their genomes.

ZiP-RT is suitable for rapid reverse transcription of RNA at elevated temperatures employed in most isothermal DNA amplification assays.
